BRITA UNGER

Starting my life out as a competitive gymnast, I ended up having shooting back pain… and for years after. The overstretching, improper alignment, intense training and hypermobility didn’t help. Thankfully Pilates has relieved me of this crippling back pain! I feel taller, longer, in proper alignment and more connected.

Pilates fell into my lap when I went on a yoga surfing retreat which included Pilates classes. The classes were led by celebrity trainer Alisa Wyatt. They were very challenging and required more focus, core strength and precision than I could have imagined..and I felt worked, stretched and moved in places I'd never experienced. It was amazing. So amazing that it changed my life. I quit my corporate job and enrolled to become a Classical Method instructor at Pilates from the Centre in North Vancouver. This 950-hour training program, under the umbrella of “The Pilates Center” in Boulder, Colorado operates one of the most respected programs in the world. The training was incredible and has led me down the path of helping clients with their health and fitness goals so they too can thrive physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Outside of Pilates, you can find me exploring trails with my dog Koda, snowboarding, hiking, biking, cooking healthy meals and drinking wine! I am also a health, cooking, nature and animal lover, I love to read up on everything from the musculoskeletal system to vitamins and herbal tinctures, natural make-up, essential oils, eating paleo, low carb and plant based food diets. There is such a powerful connection between the state of our health and the food we eat!

“Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness.”
